‘The Assassination’ Published in Nova

The short story, ‘The Assassination’, has been translated to German and published in Nova. This issue of Nova is a special Middle East issue, feature a story by Lavie Tidhar, Achmed Khammas, and myself, and an interview with all three of us.

The Assassination is about an old man, an old hero, who has built his entire life around a deed done in his youth. But thanks to time technology, he can look back and learn the truth about his deed. In the story, the personality he has built upon his heroic deed in stripped away, step by step, as he slowly finds who he really is and who he always was.

The Canadian magazine, Outlook, has reprinted my article ‘2010: An Israeli Space Odyssey’ in its new issue.

SF author Guy Hasson explains the explosion of science fiction in Israel and looks at how far the themes of its authors are particularly Jewish or Israeli. Writers covered include Lavie Tidhar and Nir Yaniv and Hasson himself.

‘The Unruly Child’ Now in Greek

The Greek SF magazine, ‘Ennea’, has published ‘The Unruly Child’.

It is a story that takes place in a world where children have imagination and the older they grow, the more imagination they lose.  An old man tries to browbeat a child about the secrets of imagination.

‘The Unruly Child’ has also appeared, translated into Hebrew, in ‘Once Upon a Future #1’.

Hispacon 2007

I was a guest of the 2007 SF convention in Spain, Hispacon.

‘The Folly of Freedom’ was published in 2007’s Hispacon book, translated into Spanish.

Later on, when Lavie Tidhar chose the story for the Apex Book of World SF, he changed its name to ‘The Levantine Experiments’.
